Valpolicella

Well known by the Romans for its fine wines Recioto and Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella has become famous for what can be rightly defined as “the nectar of the gods”: Amarone, a dry and bitter wine.

The heart of the production is located in the Valpolicella Classica which includes the municipalities of Marano, Fumane, Negrar, Sant’Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano. However, this region is known not only for its wine, but also for the local products such as honey, cheese and black truffle from Lessinia; cold cuts, olive oil, cherries, peaches and kiwi fruits from Valpolicella.

If gastronomy is not your thing, then let yourself soak up the elegance of the historic villas and the ancient churches that are signs of the richness of the lords who once inhabited the region. Breathtaking views and landscapes, nature trails and much more will make you discover the beauties of the territory.
